Kerynne’s Custom Granny Flat – Built by Beohm Construction, Designed by Funky Little Shack (Cumbalum, NSW)

After losing her home in the 2022 east coast floods, Kerynne set out to rebuild her life close to family. With a vision crafted by Funky Little Shack, she engaged Beohm Construction to bring her new home to life on her son’s property in Cumbalum.

The site presented several challenges — a compact footprint, angled boundary, and a steep slope from the street. A custom solution was essential. The result was one of Funky Little Shack’s most unique designs: a 60m² split-level granny flat that seamlessly connects to the main home, appearing as one cohesive structure from the street.

On the upper level, the layout includes a master bedroom with built-in wardrobe, a bathroom, laundry cupboard, and a light-filled study nook that overlooks the living space below.

Stairs lead to a spacious lower level featuring a raked ceiling, open plan kitchen and living area, island bench, overhead cabinetry, and sliding doors opening onto a generous 21m² verandah with elevated views.

Built by Beohm Construction with care and precision, this granny flat is tailored to Kerynne’s needs — offering independence, comfort, and a fresh start, just steps from her family.
